Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cookbook author over the years. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina started her career as a writer at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and policy reports. Although she initially found it fascinating, eventually she became bored. Then she bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food store. It took her nearly 18 years to make the shop extremely successful before she decided to sell the store. Then she began writing the first of many cookbooks. Then, a number of cookbooks were published, and she also contributed to magazine articles. Another hit was her Food Network Television show. In addition, she offers products ranging from food ingredients to storage containers and equipment. Ina is not a student at any cookery school or worked in a restaurant and she is completely self-taught. Her name is ascribed to her easy style of cooking as well as her easy take on entertainment. Her most well-known recipes include the Skillet-Roasted lemon Chicken Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac and Cheese Beef Bourguignon Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lemon Bars.
