Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as seen by flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession until she reached the age of adulthood due to her parents being afraid of the negative effects that stress could be a cause of. Perry was shy during high school and was not a performer. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred to the university from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went to New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought the actress back to California which is where she discovered acting work. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother on Broadway in 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, she played a recurring role on the ABC drama about politics Scandal starring her father. The actress was also featured on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. Despite having a family connection to the character she got the role through an audition.
